reality of money and reality of my people

*WE NEED YOUR HELP*
LET ME INTRODUCE YOUR ARTS TO THE POPULATION OF DIEBOUGOU, AND INTRODUCE OUR DIEBOUGOU TO YOU
I have been living in Diébougou, Burkina Faso since last year and I am LOVING my life here.
There are so many great things here that I really want to share with all my friends in the world.
But at the same time, as here the wave of technology has not yet been arrived, there is no opportunities for my friends in Diébougou to get to know the great arts of the world.
I've started acting at the age of 13, and moved to New York at 19. I was astonished by the encounters with tons of great arts I found in New York, the arts that artists from all over the world have created.
What I want to do now, is to connect Diébougou, which is the town I love, with other people and places I love.
I am organizing an international art festival with Mihee Suh (Photographer/NY) and Cheick Ouattara (Representative of Diebougou's Theater company). Please take a look, share, and be a part of it.

私は/ I BE
Some years ago, because I was tired of carrying all the school books and such to my university everyday, I bought my iPad. So in my iPad, there are lots of school related things such as digital textbooks or videos from my classes. Since graduation, for about a year and a bit, I haven't used it a lot but today, as my iPhone is completely dead, I started using it again and it brought back memories of New York.
NY, USA
I make my home at each location I am based in. As watching the videos of New York, I realize that NY has already become my ex-home and that I've already become a people of Diébougou, that it is my home already, and I am loving my life.
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
I am organizing an international art festival in Diébougou with Cheick Ouattara, who I call the revolutionary, and Mihee Suh, a photographer based in NY. I don't know if things like this is necessary or not, but I just want to work here as a people of here, with maximum of possibilities I have.
Cali, Colombia
I cannot keep distinguishing (or discriminating) one from another, including myself, regarding to one's nationality or color of skin, or the culture one has been raised in, in order to establish my stability of everyday life. In the process of understanding someone, if such categorization is necessary, I'd rather not to understand him. And I don't know into what kind of category I would be able to fit smoothly. I want to make my home, rather than to make my place by separating myself from others to say, I am right.
Kagoshima, Japan
I see myself as someone who is kind of "international." But even when I was living in NY, where should be one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world, the continent of Africa felt very very far for me. Then I thought, if I call myself a "international person," first I should stop excluding Africa from some notion that we call "International Society," and putting it back into it only when we talk about "World's Poverty," as if that is the only feature of Africa. So, I came to "Africa."
NJ, USA
I think I have always been a type of person who takes things easy, who keeps cool always when others are frustrated because of the long list of "things to do." I'd stand there calmly and calculate the order of things to do. I choose where to show my emotion, and except the case of someone's death, I haven't really experienced something like a temper outburst. But I think, recently as the opportunity of creating something from zero has increased, I think I am experiencing more of feeling of heat and frustration sometimes. Maybe I am taking off a coat.

There is no such a thing: the universal rightness, but I am feeling worthy of my days. I live with my dear people, in my dear place, and thinking about the revitalization of our Diébougou together. I want to try to live here to the full extent of my ability.

I'm planing a big international festival in Diebougou, which to continue for 1 week, sometime around the end of May to the beginning of June. With the active individuals I have encountered here in Diebougou, we'll introduce arts from the world and at the same time we'll create our own arts and try introducing them to the world.

Some ideas that I have always disagreed since I came here: Everything that came from Overseas is Good. As I wore a pair of pants made in Spain, people say its so good because they don't find it here, or if they do, it's more expensive than their local fabrics. But the fact that is is expensive or it is rare is not what makes it to be considered good, is it? I'd love it if people will know that Japan is not in Europe, so I think it's also beautiful to get to know a bit about other countries. We should stop saying which one is better. We can just exchange without judging what is superior. And we do have real great things in Diebougou, that is true.

As we live, we meet people and places and be related with them, and that relation would extend to reach to even some others to be related. I come to a new land and the land becomes my home. I meet new people and they become my family. Life might be just a continuation of this encountering. Mihee, who suddenly became my family in the last 6 months of my NY life, is coming to DIebougou very soon. "So if you come, let's do an event together!" What I proposed without almost not thinking anything, is becoming to take a form in reality. So many people have already become a part of it. WOUNTOGO-SUI, the group I made with KINDA and NAMI, has been developed to held a group meeting in NY without me. Today we had our first meeting of TEAM DIEBOUGOU. People with lots ideas without much money have come, and exchanged.
Hoy hemos hecho nuestro reunión primero a Diebougou.

For 2015, we'd like to try to ask for donations (Croudfunding) to collect the budget but for the following year, with what we've done this year, we'll go look for sponsors here in Burkina Faso as well. The event will be consisted of some creative workshops for kids, I'd love to put our drawing contests here as well, we'll have people of Karate and Judo, and introduce traditional arts and goods of Diebougou, do a live performance, have guest performers, and will introduce arts from the world. If you can come to participate, we'll love that.
In order to talk with people about this festival, I was running all over the city until the tire of my bike to go flat. Everyone was happy with the idea and excited. It's fun to live life with having hopes and dreams. It's wonderful that we all are excited. And it makes me realize that this is the relation between me, Mihee, and the people of Burkina Faso.

There are so so much that one person can do. So, if it's many people, we can do so so so so so much. But the important thing is that each one put one's efforts into it. without that, it would't work well. If we all try together, we can do anything.
